 Find out what happens when Don Welch, a CMA® (Certified Management Accountant),  the CEO of the Ship-Breaking Company (SBC) finds out about a major industrial accident at the company’s contracted Pakistani ship-breaking operation that killed 19 and seriously injured more than 50 employees.  The case is from the 2018 Carl Menconi Ethics Case Competition.
Learning Objectives - After attending this course, attendees will
1. Be able to identify the ethical dilemmas in the case
2. Review the IMA’s Statement of Ethical Professional Practice and discuss the standard(s) most applicable consider when selecting a course of action
3. Discuss whether there are conflicts of interest between Welch’s responsibilities to his company and to the Statement
4. Critically evaluate the alternatives available to Welch
